Guillaume Aretos has been a critical member of our animation team from the start production on DreamWorks’ first CG feature, ANTZ, through the following 20 years at DreamWorks. On each film, Guillaume brings a driving vision and passion to the creative process that has earned him unanimous respect at the studio.
I am proud to call Guillaume an invaluable member of the DreamWorks Animation family, and I know that his Impact on the art of animation has been felt across the entire industry.

Please accept my wholehearted recommendation for Guillaume Aretos, he is an exceptionally talented filmmaker.
As a producer on ANTZ and the SHREK films, it has been my great privilege to work with Guillaume for many of the past 20 years, first at PDI and then at DreamWorks Animation.
Guillaume has been in the movie business since he was 14 years old, first as an actor, he was the Jack Tripper in the french version of Three's Company and as an illustrator and author of books in Europe.
Guillaume is an exceptional Designer from the nascent days of CG films, he came for ANTZ and his influence on the look of the film was unique and pivotal.
Following his success on ANTZ, I asked Guillaume to take on the role of Art Director on SHREK. He truly excelled and what I most appreciated was his creative leadership, overseeing every aspect of the “image” of our films. His work lead him to win the ANNIE Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement for Production Design for SHREK in 2001.
He did a superlative job in the production design of SHREK 2 and SHREK the THIRD.
In the process of designing SHREK 2, he supervised the design and rigging of the King's character, leading to a nomination for a V.E.S. AWARD.
As the Production designer for Puss in Boots, he oversaw every aspects of the image making process (modeling, rigging, surfacing, character effects, effects, lighting, and matte painting.) Guillaume heads a large department of computer artists. He has a phenomenal “eye” and is constantly striving to visually push the envelope.
Guillaume has received 2 nominations for V.E.S. Award for Puss in Boots.
He is one of the principle creative architects of the sophisticated lighting and jaw-dropping images that make these movies so rich and appealing
Guillaume has been an indispensable leader and Production Designer for our animated feature films since ANTZ.
His unique combination of skills, enthusiasm and dedication to the art of filmmaking , has made him one of the most valuable members of the DreamWorks Animation creative team and our most sought-after Production Designer.
I couldn’t recommend Guillaume more highly.
Sincerely,
Aron Warner
